Mr. Burchard is CEO and Chairman of the Shareholders Council of Merz Group. Merz Group is a diversified, privately-held healthcare company with key business areas medical aesthetics, therapeutics and consumer care.

Mr. Burchard joined Merz as CEO in July 2012 and assumed the additional responsibility as Chairman of the Shareholders Council in November 2019.
Under his leadership, Merz has focused its strategy on aesthetics and specialty neurology, leading to a realignment of its global R&D organization, the acquisitions of numerous companies in the aesthetics space, and a geographic expansion in Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East.
Mr. Burchard has more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having worked in sales and marketing, as well as general management roles, in six different countries across Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States.
