Merz Aesthetics, the world’s largest dedicated medical aesthetics business, announced today a call for innovative, original abstracts for its fourth annual Innovation Forum. Merz Aesthetics’ Medical Affairs invites all medical aesthetics professionals and researchers to submit cutting-edge abstracts, which can range from preclinical research, clinical studies, innovations in the field of anatomy or novel observations from daily clinical practice.
Merz Aesthetics’ annual Innovation Forum is designed to support the work of the next generation of innovators in the field. This year, winners will have the honor to present their work at the 13th annual global Merz Aesthetics Expert Summit (MEXS) in fall 2024 on the event’s main stage among leading industry experts. Additionally, Merz Aesthetics will extend an educational start-up grant valued at €10,000 to two winners who demonstrate potential to shape the medical aesthetics community with their innovations.*
“Each year, the Innovation Forum presents the opportunity to champion rising talent in the medical aesthetics community by showcasing their pioneering work that holds a high scientific standard,” said Terri Phillips, M.D., Chief Medical Affairs Officer, Merz Aesthetics. “This year, we’re awarding educational start-up grants to two winners who we strongly feel have the power to help shape the future of the aesthetics industry.”
Criteria for Application:
- Applying candidates can be researchers or practitioners, including junior and senior residents, fellows or clinicians in medical aesthetic practice.
- Candidates are encouraged to submit abstracts focused on statistically valid scientific work within the aesthetics field. This can include preclinical research, clinical studies, anatomical insights and breakthroughs or other relevant experiments providing new information in the aesthetics industry.
Selection Process:
- Submissions will be placed in one of two categories: > 5 years’ experience and < 5 years’ experience.
- Five finalists will be selected from each category by an independent international expert panel based on the abstract’s level of innovation, practical relevance and methodology.
- Selected finalists will be asked to create a video about their submission that will be available to the aesthetic community to watch and vote for their desired winners.
- Two winners will be chosen, one from each category.
- Each winner will receive €10,000 and the honor of presenting research at the global Merz Aesthetics Expert Summit (MEXS) in November 2024. The educational start-up grant is solely designated for educational or scientific purposes in the medical aesthetics field. Winners will receive a written contract to agree to the terms.
- Winners and finalists will be fully compensated for travel and accommodation to MEXS 2024.
